Bladder Calculus (Stone) With Symptoms Interfering With Function
VA Diagnostic Code 7515 · Genitourinary System · Rated under 38 CFR § 4.115b
Understanding This Condition
A bladder calculus is a stone that forms in the bladder. Under Diagnostic Code 7515, the VA addresses cases where a bladder stone is accompanied by symptoms that interfere with function.
How the VA Rates It
For this condition, the VA does not use a standalone percentage ladder. Instead, the rating instruction is:
Rate as voiding dysfunction.
This means the disability is evaluated according to the VA's criteria for voiding dysfunction rather than under a separate set of percentages listed here.
What the VA Looks For
- Evidence of a bladder calculus (stone).
- Symptoms that interfere with function — the presence of these symptoms is central to how this condition is addressed under Diagnostic Code 7515.
- Because the condition is rated as voiding dysfunction, the VA evaluates it using the applicable voiding dysfunction criteria within the genitourinary rating framework (§ 4.115b).
Important Note on Special Monthly Compensation
When a claim involves the loss or loss of use of one or more creative organs, the VA refers to § 3.350 to determine whether a veteran may be entitled to special monthly compensation (SMC).
Footnotes in the rating schedule indicate conditions that potentially establish entitlement to SMC. However, other conditions in this section may also, under certain circumstances, establish entitlement to special monthly compensation.
