## Notes

- Note: In cases of the removal of one testis as the result of a service-incurred injury or disease, other than an undescended or congenitally undeveloped testis, with the absence or nonfunctioning of the other testis unrelated to service, an evaluation of 30 percent will be assigned for the service-connected testicular loss. Testis, undescended, or congenitally undeveloped is not a ratable disability.

# VA Disability Rating: Testis Removal (Diagnostic Code 7524)

## Understanding This Condition

This rating category covers the **removal of a testis (testicle)**. The VA evaluates this condition under the genitourinary system section of its rating schedule.

Importantly, the rating schedule specifies that an **undescended or congenitally undeveloped testis is not a ratable disability**. This means the schedule addresses testicular loss related to a service-incurred injury or disease, rather than a condition that was undeveloped from birth.

## Available Rating Levels

The VA assigns one of two rating levels for testis removal:

### A Special Note on Single Testis Removal

The rating schedule includes a specific provision: In cases where **one testis is removed** as the result of a service-incurred injury or disease (other than an undescended or congenitally undeveloped testis), **and the other testis is absent or nonfunctioning for reasons unrelated to service**, a **30 percent evaluation** will be assigned for the service-connected testicular loss.
