# VA Disability Rating: Light Perception Only in One Eye (Diagnostic Code 6064)

## Understanding This Condition

Diagnostic Code 6064 applies when a veteran has **no more than light perception in one eye** — meaning the affected eye can, at most, detect the presence of light but provides little to no functional vision beyond that.

Because vision loss affects both eyes together in daily life, the VA rates this condition by looking at how well the *other* (better) eye sees. The worse your vision in the other eye, the higher the disability rating.
